2023 Undergraduate Research Showcase

Great Turnout at the 2023 Undergraduate Research Showcase

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we resumed celebrating undergraduate research this year at the annual Undergraduate Poster Show. A total of 29 of the students who were enrolled in CHEM 300 during the academic year presented their work to a diverse audience of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, families, and friends. Congratulations to all of our undergraduates for their achievements in research this year, and congratulations to the poster award winners of this year's event:

  • Tyler Galardy (Zimmermann Lab) won Best Poster by a Senior for 鈥Reversing Somatic Hypermutations Affects the Catalytic Efficiency of Aldolase Abzyme 93F3
  • Desha Perera (Liu Lab) won Best Poster by a Sophomore or Junior for 鈥Engineering a FRET Biosensor Specific to GABA with GabR
  • Thomas Bennet (Ballicora Lab) won Best Poster in Biochemistry for 鈥Insight into the Regulation of ADP-glucose Pyrophosphorylase: Importance of Homologous Serine/Threonines in the Allosteric Site
