The Influence of Catholic Social Teaching on the Practice of Corporate Social Responsibility in Indonesia

聽聽聽聽The manner and standards by which businesses and corporations approach questions concerning corporate social responsibility can be best understood in relation to the moral, ethical, and Catholic social teaching. The main purpose of this research will be to understand the influence of Indonesian corporate culture and Catholic social teaching on the attitudes of managers/owners toward the practice of Corporate Social Responsibility. The difference in attitudes between managers and corporate and catholic social teaching toward the practice of Corporate Social Responsibility will be analyzed in depth. Also, this research will examine the role of firms in improving the quality of societal life through CSR. Managers/owners of small and medium scale companies in Yogyakarta will be interviewed; data, statistics, financial reports, and other secondary literature will then be used to assess the overall situation regarding the application of CSR.

Biography:

聽聽聽聽 Dr. Ninik Yudianti has been the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Sanata Dharma University since 2006. She has also been a full time lecturer in the Department of Economics at Sanata Dharma University since 1983. Dr. Yudianti studied Economics and Accountancy at Sanata Dharma University and Southern Illinois University respectively. She received her Doctoral degree in Accounting from Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2005. Dr. Yudianti has been a member of both the American Accountant Association (AAA) and the Indonesian Accountant Association (IAI) since the 1990s.
