Rebecca Valeriano-Flores, PhD

Rebecca Valeriano-Flores is an educator, philosopher, and Loyola alum. She received her PhD from Loyola's Philosophy Department in 2025, where her research focused on critical phenomenology. Professionally, Dr. Valeriano-Flores specializes in high-impact educational practices and leadership programming. Before arriving at the Gannon Center, she was the Director of Student Inclusion and Engagement at Indiana University Bloomington's O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. As an instructor, she has taught courses for Loyola's Philosophy Department, Thrive Scholars, and Indiana University Bloomington's School of Education. A resident of Chicago for nearly 20 years, she has devoted much of that time to volunteering at non-profit and community organizations including Girls Rock! Chicago, Pushing Envelopes, and the Free to Heal Research and Archive Collective.
