Reference Checks
Reference checks are required by ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø policy. Some or all of the check(s) can be conducted by the department. Typically, reference checks are done only for the primary, final candidate selected for the position. Human ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø obtains permission from each candidate to contact the appropriate business references. A summary of the information collected through the reference checks is reviewed with the hiring department.
- References should be checked for internal candidates applying for other positions within Loyola only if the internal candidate becomes a primary candidate.
- The Human ²ÝÝ®ÉçÇø Office will obtain permission from the employee before contacting his/her supervisor. In addition, the employee's past performance appraisals will be reviewed.
